This is a wonderful vintage Japanese kusuribako/medicine box. It includes rarely found empty vintage medicine packets with interesting, colorful graphics, along with what appears to be a local area newsletter in Japanese.
The bottom is wood and the rest of the box is heavy cardboard covered in paper.
1 drawer with metal handle.
Box measures 6.75 x 7.75 inches
In good condition for its age. The box has dirt, dust, wrinkles/ripples in the paper, marks, and some edge wear which are due to age and use. Please examine all photos as they are part of the description.
Kusuribako or medicine boxes were common items in Japanese homes. They contained a variety of medicines. Every few months, a salesman would take inventory of your box, and restock as needed, and present the owner with a bill for supplies used.
Nice example of medical memorabilia. Perfect gift for those in the medical field.
