Pyrex 1953 Heinz Promotional Casserole DWD

For the collector of rustic DWD I have a Seafoam Green 507-b casserole up for sale. Perfect to add to a set for a farmhouse kitchen. The following is copied from the Pyrex Love page.to add history to this little workhorse of a casserole.

“Pyrex Love - Green Gray Oblong Baker
This is one of the more intreresting Pyrex Utility Dishes that we’ve come across. I think it could easily be confused with a Refrigerator dish because of the approximate shape, the handles and the fact that it has an ID# of 507-B. The 500 series is generally reserved for standard refrigerator dishes, whereas other utility dishes we’ve found have numbers like #231. In addition, there is no capacity on the bottom of the dish which is quite interesting. The “dash B” that has been added to the ID# seems to point to the fact that this was a base and that it had a lid. Ours did not have a lid, though.

The 501-503 refrigerator dishes had “handles” like this one, except that they didn’t stick straight out of the sides.”
